- I would never call myself a programmer, but I have created a lot of code in my lifetime. I completed several modules in Codeacademy for Python.
Medical Knowledge
- Hepatology
- During my PhD, I have learned a lot about the liver and it’s function. But much more about diseases of the liver.
- Neurology
- My master’s thesis was focused on Alzheimer research, so I have in-depth knowledge on many aspects of neurology.
- Gastroenterology
- If you are happy or sad that hepatology is mentioned elsewhere, you must be either a hepatologist or hate hepatology (which means you could be an endoscopist 😄).
- Through my work at UEG I am encountering all aspects of gastroenterology, including digestive oncology, pancreatic disease, endoscopy including polypectomy, colorectal surgery, chronic inflammatory diseases like IBD or eosinophilic oesophagitis, and much more.

I am currently working as the resident editor at the UEG in Vienna where I take care of non-live educational content for gastroenterologists and serve as a consultancy link between the UEG secretariat and the medical associates of UEG. You can see some of my work on my portfolio page.

PhD Thesis in liver disease
My PhD thesis at the group of Prof. Ruth Birner-Grünberger investigated the mechanisms of lipid storage in liver disease with a focus on protein biochemistry. I spent six months of my studies at the University of Alberta, Canada, while the rest of my studies was split between Vienna and Graz.

I studied biochemistry and molecular biomedicine in a collaboration between three universities in Graz. My Master's thesis explored the relationship of molecular iron in the brain and Alzheimer's disease.
